Jubilee Baptist Church
Introduction and Welcome
Grove Evangelical Church and Occold Baptist Church are currently working together with the aim of becoming one church to be known as the Jubilee Baptist Church. Together we try and provide a warm welcome to visitors at our services. So whether you are on holiday, new to the area, going to church for the first time or coming back to church do feel free to join us on Sundays. When you come along, we hope that you will feel at home with us and find the meetings clear and helpful.
Who we are
We are a group of people from varied backgrounds, with different stories to tell of how we have personally experienced the love and forgiveness of God, through Jesus Christ. We try to live to please God and to share the wonderful news of how each person can be right with God, know His help day by day and be certain of a future in heaven.
We have been an independent church for over 15 years, and we are affiliated to the Association of Grace Baptist Churches (East Anglia) and Affinity.
Our Meetings
On Sunday’s we usually meet in the village hall at 10.45am and at 6pm in the chapel (please check website diary page for any changes).
We realize that visiting a church for the first time can be quite daunting. To help we have produced a guide of what to expect.
During the week we regularly hold a ladies group on Monday evening, and a prayer meeting on Thursday night. Please e-mail or phone for details as venues can vary.
On alternate Friday’s we hold Youth Club for those aged 9 and over. You can find out more about what happens at Youth club by clicking on the tab at the top left of this page.
Most weeks we produce a news sheet, giving details of our meetings, prayer topics for our world, community and those connected with the fellowship, as well as other information relating to the church. If you would like to be added to the distribution list please send an e-mail.
Our Beliefs and Practice
We base our life and faith on the teaching of the Bible, which is our ultimate guide in all matters of faith and practice. See a summary of our beliefs
Practically we encourage those who are members to be active in the life and work of the church. To show God’s love and our faith at home, in the community and throughout the world. This summarizes how we think this should look in the life of this church.
