Who's who - Bicycle Ride?

Click for larger image

I have received the following photograph and am trying to put a few more names to the faces. The bearded gentlemen in the centre is known to be Francis Mutimer. The event is believed to be the ORAC Anuual Bicycle Ride and the picture was probably taken in the '70's. Do you recognise yourself (or anyone else) in this picture? If so, please Contact Us or add a Comment below. I appreciate it will be difficult to pinpoint the exact face but have a go anyway.

I am grateful to Robert Fiebelkorn, a relative of the above Francis Mutimer, for submitting this. He also tells me he still has the bicycle featured in the photograph - so how about that for a piece of history!!

    Barry,
I am sure you have had several responses to your request for information on this photo, but a recent event has prompted me to write.

The gentleman on the three wheeler is George Thompson, who lived with his wife Win and son Keith in Redlingfield Road, Keith is the cyclist on the racing bike holding on the school railings wearing dark glasses. Sadly I read in the Diss Express of George's death in Portugal where he and Win had a home.
George was one of the original group of villagers who joined ORAC at the beginning (1975/6) and was a committed supporter and arranged several of these bike rides round the village to raise funds to build a village hall. Once the land, now the Playing Field was purchased he enthusiastically helped in the erection and later on completion, the maintenance of the 'new' village hall.

George and Win set up a printing enterprise Town and Country Printers and operated from Occold for several years until they transferred to Vinces Road Diss. Keith meanwhile had joined and runs the business today.

There are several more people on the photo I may be able to identify but you may already have been told by others more than I know anyway!
I hope this may be of interest in view of the circumstances and the potted history may be useful.

    Yours Tom.
