Following the recent wet weather we have been experiencing, concerns have been raised about the system of ditches and culverts in the village, and their ability to cope with the large amounts of water draining into them.
This is a friendly reminder from the Parish Council that all landowners who have a ditch or culvert on their land are responsible for keeping them clear to allow water to flow freely through them. This includes keeping ditches and screens clear of debris and maintaining trees and shrubs on the banks. Any blockage that impedes the flow of water may not cause a problem to you directly but can result in flooding further back along the system.
