Important Announcement - Village Hall Noise

ORAC have now, installed a new sound limiting amplification system in the village hall. This has been at a cost of £2,200 from locally sourced and raised funds from within the village.

This unit is designed to limit the noise levels at the village hall boundary, as described in the planning conditions, where amplified music is used within the hall and, has been set up to ensure that the internal levels do NOT exceed those required limits at the boundary. ORAC will be reviewing its performance with MSDC, at the earliest opportunity.

At present, there are still plans to build an acoustic lobby (planning permission obtained), to limit any noise leakage from the rear fire exit door but, these works will be postponed, due to high costs and, until we have evaluated the performance of the noise limiting system with MSDC. ORAC are committed to providing a resolution to the ‘noise issues’ that have impacted on the use of the hall since prior to its opening, but are mindful of costs and spending what is locally funded monies, in a well-managed and appropriate way.
